World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is held on 10th October every year.

World Mental Health Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness of mental health.

It is a day when people can come together to show their support for people who suffer with their mental health and to unite in our efforts to improve the mental health of people around the world.

The World Mental Health Day theme for 2022 is 'Make Mental Health and Wellbeing for all a Global Priority.’

We talked about what mental health is and that everyone has mental health. We focussed in on ways that our body feels and reacts when our emotions are unsettled. We then explored some of the resources we have in class that we can use to help us feel more calm. We thought carefully about how we feel, think and act when we feel calm.

After this, we explored some different emotions by reading a range of poems created by Jen Foster. In groups, we performed these to the class and the Year 6s. It was lovely to see how we had thought carefully about each emotion.
