Drawing: I Need Space
We began the unit by looking at a ‘retrofuturistic’ image from the 1960s. We discussed what we could see and then wrote our thoughts and questions about the picture.

In our next lesson, we recreated space images using different media.

In our next lesson, we were inspired by a piece of art called ‘Moonwalk’ by Tiers Albers. We discussed how it was created and how printing was used to make the image. We used this inspiration to create our own collagraphy plates, thinking carefully about textures and patterns, which we will use to create a piece of artwork later in the unit.

Once they had dried, we created prints with them. This was so much fun! The prints will form the background of our artwork.
We are so pleased with how they turned out!
