Diaries & Recounts

A Swapping Story

We read a story by Nick Gaiman called ‘The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish’ and we enjoyed the jokes very much indeed! We improvised our own swapping stories and we tried to make them funny too. We acted them out before we had a go at writing them.

A Diary of the Killer Cat

We enjoyed reading the diary of Tuffy the Killer Cat by Anne Fine, and it was funny when we found out he wasn’t a killer after all. It was just a misunderstanding! We acted in role to imagine what Tuffy would say to the policeman if he was interviewed.

Hawse End diaries

Following our residential trip to Hawse End, we wrote diary entries for both days, using all we had learned about diaries and recounts.
