My Year Ahead

This lesson we have played bingo with different questions that we had to answer and find a match with someone else in the class and we described how we thought JK Rowling was feeling when her books became popular and we wrote a sentence about how she became successful then we wrote our fears in year 6 on a spiral and we wrote about our hopes on a flag in year 6.

The Learning Charter

In groups we discussed different rights and responsibilities and rewards and sanctions that link to our school rules. We then created a class poster with a definitive set of rules linked to our school rules.

Owning the Learning Charter

After all our work on the learning charter and developing a clear set of rules we were given a scenario. In groups we were given a character and had to decide on the consequence for two children who broke a rule and justify our reasons.

They had set fire to a bin which had then damaged the school. The roles we took were class teacher, head teacher, caretaker, parents and fire and police service.
