Power and Governance
We started by looking at the UK Parliament and its structure. We discovered the differences between the House of Lords, House of Commons and the role the Monarch plays. We then moved on to explain how Parliament and the Government do different jobs.
We knew we were having a visit from our local MP so we began writing about issues that were I’m portant to us.
Visit from MP Trudy Harrison
We welcomed our local MP to school and had a KS2 assembly before a question and answer session with Year 6.
We took the opportunity to hand deliver our letters that we had written and hope for a response.
We continued our learning about how elections and voting happens and how we can have our voice represented.
