Seascale Primary School

Aim High

Week beginning 4/5/20

Well done for your excellent work on Lexia 💻, Mathletics🏅and Numbots! 🤖

Hi Beech Class!

I hope you have had a lovely weekend and are all safe and well. 😊🌈

On Sunday, I went for a woodland walk and saw an owl! 🦉 Charlie spotted it first and went to say hello. It sat happily in the tree while I snapped this picture. Have you seen any animals on your walks or in your garden?

If you haven't already, have a look at the video Seascale staff made for you here! 🎬📷 We had lots of fun making it and we hope you enjoy it. You could do one of your own, perhaps?

This week's learning has two topics. The first one is animals. You could make your learning about farm animals 🐄🐑, pets 🐇🐹, dangerous predators 🐅, sea creatures 🐠🦈's up to you!

The second topic is Victory in Europe (or VE) Day. Friday 8th May is a really special day celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the end of the war in Europe. There are lots of activity ideas in the choices PDF to learn about and celebrate VE Day. 🇬🇧🎉💃🏻

Have a brilliant week!

Miss Conroy 😊🌟🌻🦒😃

P.S. Mums and Dads. Try and have a look at the Historic England Lockdown Photo Challenge. Entries close Tuesday.

VE Day in London - 1945

How do you think people felt hearing Winston Churchill's speech?

Vera Lynn - We'll Meet Again (1943)

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day

Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Till the blue skies chase
Those dark clouds far away

And I will just say hello
To the folks that you know
Tell them you won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That, as I saw you go
You were singing this song

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day
