Victorians
To begin our unit, we created a timeline of key events in Queen Victoria’s life.
We learned about primary and secondary sources then studied extracts of Queen Victoria’s diary to see what we could learn about her life.
Then we studied images of Queen Victoria, both paintings and photos. First of all, we tried to put these in a timeline. Then we chose one image to study and thought about its reliability.
Then we began to learn about the impact of the Victorians. We first of all learned about the extent and expansion of the British Empire. We also learned which good were imported from each country.
We learned that the Victorian period was a time of great innovation and as part of our homework, we researched a Victorian invention.
