The Snail and the Whale
Our learning this term will be based around ‘The Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson. In our first lesson, we explored the front cover and predicted what the story was going to be about. We then had a go at a freeze frame activity, pretending we were the characters in the story.
Today, we pretending that we were the snail in the story, going on a journey around the world with the whale. The first place we have travelled to is Antarctica. We had a discussion about what we might see there and what we might do there. We then worked together to write an entry in our travel journal.
We went on a school trip to the Laal Ratty and took the snail and the whale with us. We then wrote about their journey when we got back to school.
