Who's Who

Come and meet the staff at our school.

We are delighted to welcome Mrs Laura Storey as our new Head Teacher from 1st January 2024. She is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Miss Dunne is our school Business Administrator, Clerk to Governors and is part of our Safeguarding Team.

Mrs Merry is part of our Foundation Stage Team co-ordinating the unit and teaching the children in Reception.  She has a wide experience of teaching children in Early Years settings.

Mrs Merry leads the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, RE and Music.

Using her expertise, Mrs Merry also takes the lead on Forest School activities which we carry out in our school grounds.

Miss Little is our Year 1 and 2 class teacher for Holly class. She has taught in several schools across Cumbria and has a wide range of experience working with children with additional needs. Miss Little is the curricular lead for Art and Design, and Design and Technology.

 

Miss Finlay is our Year 3 and 4 Teacher with Alder Class. She teaches English and Maths to Year 4 each morning, and all of Years 3 and 4 together in the afternoon.

Mrs Thompson teaches English and Maths to Year 3 each morning. 

She is our SEND Co-ordinator, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Senior Lead for Mental Health and Wellbeing and Youth Mental Health First Aider. She is the curricular lead for PSHE and Science, and works with Miss West in leading Computing.

Mrs Wells is our Year 5 teacher with Willow Class.

She has been teaching since 2013 and loves sitting down with a good book. Mrs Wells is the curricular lead for English and Languages. Mrs Wells leads on our work as an Eco School and supports our Eco Council and our Reading Champions.

Mrs Crowther is the class teacher for Year 6 in Birch Class.

She has over ten years experience teaching Key Stage 2 and has taught in various countries, including China, Tanzania and Belgium.

She takes the curricular lead for Maths, History and Geography and Global Learning in school. She works within the Behaviour and Safeguarding team in school and is mentor to Early Career teachers. Mrs Crowther leads our School Council.

Miss Jackson is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant and is the part of our Foundation Stage Team, leading the Nursery sessions each morning.  In the afternoon she teaches classes throughout the school delivering a variety of lessons such as Music, R.E and P.E.

Miss Jackson is the curricular lead for P.E. and takes a school lead on 'Better Ways to School'. Contact her if you would be interested in participating in a Walking Bus. She supports our Sports Council.

Miss West is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant and is part of our Foundation Stage Team working with both Nursery and Reception children each morning. She also works throughout the school teaching Computing, French and PE, and supporting staff and children in accessing Information Technology. She takes the curricular lead for Computing, alongside Mrs Thompson, and she is our IT Lead in school.

Miss West supports out Computing Council.

Mrs Cormack is a Senior Teaching Assistant and provides classroom support for Year 1 and 2. She takes a lead on planning additional support for reading, phonics, spelling and writing across the school. She is a Youth Mental Health First Aider.

Mrs Baker is a Senior Teaching Assistant and provides classroom support for Year 5 and Year 6. She also provides intervention support for children in school with additional needs. Mrs Baker is trained to support children with Drawing & Talking Therapy and is training to become our ELSA. She takes a lead on Phunky Foods and Cookery Club in school, which is where her passion lies.

She loves coming to school each day to work with the children and seeing them flourish with their learning.

Miss Johnstone is a Teaching Assistant and supports children in Year 1 and 2, as well as children in Early Years. Miss Johnstone is trained to support children with Drawing & Talking Therapy and she is a Decider Skills coach. She runs Breakfast Reading Club each morning from 8:15am.

 

Mrs Wilkinson is a Teaching Assistant and provides classroom support in Years 1 and 2. She also supports one-to-one support for individual children following a bespoke curriculum. Mrs Wilkinson is trained to deliver Lego Therapy.

Miss Bowman is a Teaching Assistant working in Years 3 and 4, as well as in our Foundation Stage unit.

Miss Oaten is a Learning Support Assistant. She supports in the Year 5 classroom, and provides one-to-one support to children following a bespoke curriculum.

Mrs Wake is a Classroom Support Assistant providing learning support in Early Years and in Year 5. She supports children following a bespoke curriculum. Mrs Wake is also our Crossing Patrol, before and after school.

Mrs Park is a Classroom Support Assistant for Years 5 and 6.

Mrs Coates is a Classroom Support Assistant and will be working with Years 3, 4 and 5.

Miss Norcross is our Trainee Teaching Assistant. She supports children in the Year 1 and 2 class, as well supporting Year 6.

Mrs Taylor is our Midday Supervisor.

Mrs Unsworth is our Midday Supervisor.
