Parliament Week

Following the whole school assembly we were excited to learn about parliament. We learnt about how the British Government worked and thought about the different roles within the government.

As part of this we came up with different ideas of what we would do if we were ...

• Minister for Education.
• Minister for Health.
• Minister for the Environment.
• Minister for Transport.

We learnt about how the government pays for things and the role of taxes. From that we decided what our priorities are and wrote a formal letter to our local MP about these. We then composed a letter to the current Government minister to explained our ideas and included justifications for our views.
