Christianity - The Easter Story

Our religious enquiry question this term was based on the Easter Story. What is ‘good’ about Good Friday?
First we learned about the story of Easter and the children sequenced the story into time order, ending with Easter Sunday.

Then we looked at what Easter means to Christians, and we explored the idea of ‘salvation’. We thought about the ways we celebrate Easter Sunday now and we made links between the Easter Story and our celebration of New Life.

The Miracles of Jesus

We shared several stories of when Jesus performed miracles. We looked at stories where Jesus healed people such as the story of Jesus healing the blind man, and Jesus healing the sick. The children drew pictures showing the key parts of these stories and they chose an image to represent the whole story. We explored whether we thought Jesus performed miracles or whether there could have been some other explanation.
