Seascale Bowling Club

We had a great time visiting Seascale bowling club last week learning the rules and chatting to all the members who play there regularly.

Tale Trails

we were lucky enough today to have a visit from Anja and Clare to launch ‘The Sand Martin’s Tale’ which is a new story walk around Drigg and Seascale. The map goes live to the  public this weekend so we got a sneak peak.

We spent the morning discovering the map and telling folklore stories.

The afternoon we went to the beach to create beach art and see the stories come to life.

After a fantastic day we were so inspired by the beach trip that we wrote our own ‘Tale Trail’ stories and created a beautiful display.

Safer Internet Day

As part of safer internet day we took part in a virtual assembly and designed some internet posters based around kindness and respecting others online.

Anti-Bullying Week

We took part in the BBC Live lesson all about Bullying this week to deepen our understanding of what bullying is.

We learnt about different bullying roles and what we can do to help.

Target - Ringleader Bully - Assisting Bully - Reinforcers - Defender - Bystander

We also learnt about the reasons why people might bully and recognising our role in supporting others. We learnt about different forms of bullying including cyber-bullying and how we can keep ourself safe.

We talked through some scenarios to help us discuss how we can empathise and support others.

Using the theme this year of 'One Kind Word' we'll be creating a new display to share our words with the school.

Remembrance Day

Year 6 spent the week preparing an assembly for the school to learn about remembrance day. Have a listen below to the poetry we learnt to recite for the school.

CNC Visit

We were lucky enough to have a visit from CNC. They showed us their kit, talked to us about their day to day work. We had a chance to sit in the car and even had a demonstration from the police dogs.

We had such a great time taking part in the Lego workshop this week. We were set challenges by an engineer to create some Lego bridges. We had the opportunity to be civil engineers, to develop time management and even manage a financial budget.
