Chocolate and peach cake

Chocolate and peach cake

4oz (110g) self raising flour
4oz (110g) caster sugar
4oz (110g) margarine
2 eggs (beaten)
1 or 2 tbsp Cocoa powder (depending on how much chocolate flavour you like)
Tinned peaches (can use other tinned fruit, or you can use fresh fruit, but make sure they are soft!)
Milk, add a little if it’s too thick.
Mixing bowl
Wooden spoon
Cake tin
Weighing scales
Table spoon

Fork and a cup

Put the oven on at 180C and make sure you wash your hands and put on an apron!
  1. Sieve the self-raising flour into the mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sugar and mix into the flour.
  3. Then add the margarine to the flour and sugar and mix.
  4. Break eggs into a cup, make sure there is no shell, and whisk with a folk before adding to the mix.
  5. Add the tbsp of cocoa powder and mix. If it is too thick add milk or syrup from the tinned fruit to make it thinner.
  6. Grease a cake tin and place the tinned fruit in the bottom of the tin.
  7. Spoon the cake mixture on top of the fruit.
  8. Place in the oven for 20/25 minutes and check if it is done. Get an adult to help with putting the mixture into the oven and checking it the cake is baked. If you put a knife in the middle of the cake it should come out clean, with no mixture on it.
  9. Take out and leave to cool.
  10. Enjoy blush
  11. Remember to wash up!
