Equipment
Mixing bowl
Wooden spoon
Cake tin
Weighing scales
Table spoon
Sieve
Fork and a cup
Method.
Put the oven on at 180C and make sure you wash your hands and put on an apron!
- Sieve the self-raising flour into the mixing bowl.
- Add the sugar and mix into the flour.
- Then add the margarine to the flour and sugar and mix.
- Break eggs into a cup, make sure there is no shell, and whisk with a folk before adding to the mix.
- Add the tbsp of cocoa powder and mix. If it is too thick add milk or syrup from the tinned fruit to make it thinner.
- Grease a cake tin and place the tinned fruit in the bottom of the tin.
- Spoon the cake mixture on top of the fruit.
- Place in the oven for 20/25 minutes and check if it is done. Get an adult to help with putting the mixture into the oven and checking it the cake is baked. If you put a knife in the middle of the cake it should come out clean, with no mixture on it.
- Take out and leave to cool.
- Enjoy
- Remember to wash up!
