Songs of WW2
Today, to start our topic about Songs from the War, we listened to two different songs. one from WW1 and another from WW2. We discussed the importance of music during war time but the differences between the style of them.
We noticed that messages portrayed was very important in both but the messages from the WW1 songs were more written to keep the soldiers morale whereas WW2 songs were created to keep the home front comforted. Because of this they sounded very different.
We are learning to sing ‘The White Cliffs of Dover’ to perform at our Remembrance assembly.
