The John Muir Award
Eve Mulholland from Cumbria Wildlife Trust joined us in class to introduce the children to the John Muir Award. She then lead us on a trip to Drigg Dunes to launch Willow Class’s journey towards achieving this award. Eve’s work is part of the Dynamic Dunescapes project and we learned about the dunes as a natural habitat and we went pond dipping in freshwater pools.
As part of the Discovery element of the Award, the children then descended the dunes to the beach and explored the saltwater habitats.
