Rowan Class Story
This half term it would be very tricky to record a class story aloud to be listened to at home. This is because I will be at school most days, as will some of you, and throughout the next few weeks some of you will be spending time both at school and at home. It would be impossible to keep up with the story!
However, I don't want you to be without a story, so here are a couple of suggestions from one of my favourite authors, J.K. Rowling...
The Ickabog
The Ickabog is a new book written for children, which J.K. Rowling is releasing online for free throughout this half term. She even has a competition where you can enter to illustrate chapters for the printed version of the book when it is released.
Click here for more competition details and for the link to all chapters.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
If you prefer listening to stories read aloud, you are in for a treat! J.K. Rowling has set up a website called wizardingworld.com which features celebrities reading chapters from the first book in the Harry Potter series. The celebrities are from the film or theatre Potter adaptations, starting with Daniel Radcliffe himself. The chapters will be released as videos throughout this half term.

The Wizarding World website also has a fantastic area called Harry Potter At Home, which contains lots of fun quizzes and home learning activities to try.
