British Values and Personal Development
Personal Development
At Seascale School, we provide a rich range of personal development opportunities beyond the academic curriculum. We support pupils to develop through participation across a wide range of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural experiences, building confidence, resilience and understanding. Pupils develop to become responsible, respectful and engaged members of their community.
Promoting Fundamental British Values
In accordance with The Department for Education, we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.
Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
• Democracy
• Rule of Law
• Individual Liberty
• Mutual Respect
• Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs

Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education, and Relationships and Sex Education
At Seascale School, we aim to give children the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that they need to effectively navigate the complexities of life in the 21st Century. Our broad approach to personal, social, health, economic and relationships education ensures that we cover key areas which will support children to make informed choices, now and in the future, around their health, safety, wellbeing, relationships, and financial matters and will support them in becoming confident individuals and active members of society.
We use the Kapow PSHE/RSE scheme to ensure children will have met the objectives set out within the Relationships and Health Education statutory guidance and can utilise their learning within their daily lives, from dealing with friendship issues to resilience to making healthy choices and knowing where and how to get help when needed. They will have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that they need to effectively navigate the complexities of life in the 21st Century and will be able to make informed choices, now and in the future, around their health, safety, wellbeing, relationships, and financial matters and will support them in becoming confident individuals and active members of society.
