Strudda Bank Farm
Beech Class visited Strudda Bank Farm at Calderbridge. Farmer Kev introduced us to all of his farm animals. He explained to the children how grains are grown and used for different foods. Children handled different types of grain then made 'sandwiches' from them and fed them to the cows!
Farmer Kev also explained how important hygiene is on a farm. We washed our hands before eating our lunch and again after we had met the cows and the lambs. We even had to wash our wellies before we left the farm!
One of the best bits was playing in the barn on the hay bales.
