  • Science workshop with Years 3 & 4

    Wed 01 Nov 2023

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a visit from Nuclear Waste Services who delivered a science workshop on States of Matter. The children enjoyed it so much that some asked their parents to reproduce the experiment endlessly at home! It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the science curriculum from professional scientists.

Well done to a team of authors who have been developing their idea for a pupil newsletter for a year and have finally published their first edition! Well done Ronnie, Ruby, Isla, Riley and Holly!
You will find it attached to the latest school newsletter and Edition 2 is in development for November. Watch this space!

  • Willow Class Assembly

    Wed 01 Nov 2023

Thank you to all in Willow Class who created a wonderful presentation on their learning this half term under the title of Survival! Thank you to parents and family for joining the children in school and providing an enthusiastic audience for Year 5.

  • North Lakes Food Bank collection

    Wed 01 Nov 2023

We had an excellent response to our call for food items for the North Lakes Food Bank before half term. The week began with World Food Day and where children were encouraged to explore the idea of the Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Poverty, and at the end of the week they dressed up in green for Green Day for World Food Day. Our children learn such a lot by this regular act of generosity and thoughtfulness. Thank you so much to all families and parents who donated these items - they will be very much appreciated by families in Cumbria.

  • Cross Country

    Fri 20 Oct 2023

A very big well done to our pupils from Years 3, 4 and 6 who attended a intra-schools cross country event at Whitehaven. They all did extremely well on a long and muddy course. Special congratulations go to James Parr from Year 6 who came 3rd place in the whole event. We have also learned today that our Year 3 and 4 competitors came joint 1st place as a class, which is an excellent achievement. Well done, all!

  • MacMillan Coffee Afternoon

    Fri 06 Oct 2023

Thank you to all parents, carers and family members who packed our school hall on Friday 6th October in support of MacMillan Cancer Support. We raised more than £240 thanks to the expert cake baking of our school community!

Each class provided entertainment in the form of a performance of song, poetry, prose or rap to all those gathered in the hall and they were greeted to rapturous applause.

What a wonderful start to the school year. Well done everyone!
