Habitats and Microhabitats
We've arrived now to set off on an adventure to the woods. Listening to what we can hear 🌳🐦
We learnt all about different animals that have the woodland as their habitat including deers. We held some antlers and even had the chance to set up a camera and some snacks for them. Nature Rich Miterdale are going to send us some footage in a few weeks to see what we captured 🦌
We also learnt all about birds that live in the woodland. We spent time listening out for their song, looked at an example nest before building our own 🐦
Today we started our final science unit all about micro habitats. In our lesson this afternoon, we were grouping mini beasts and creating classification keys together as a class 🐞🐝🕷️🐜
Yesterday we went on a minibeast hunt to find what minibeasts lived in microhabitats around our school 🐜🕷️🐝🐞
