Drawing: Understanding tone and texture
We started our art unit which is focused on understanding texture and tone in drawing. Our first lessons was exploring different drawing materials.
Our sketchbooks today after exploring tonal shading using a variety of different materials.
Today we discussed what shapes we could see within a soft toy.
We used that information to make some initial sketches for our observational drawings.
The children have spent the last few days sketching and refining their observational drawings and are so proud of them, as am I 😊 They used pencils to create tone and they are beautiful.
