International Day of Education

We discussed as a class what our school looks and feels like now in comparison to what is was like in the 1900’s. The children brainstormed some very good ideas! 
 After watching some video clips from the 1900’s the children gave differences of what school was like in the 1900’s. They were very shocked to see how strict the teachers were, they were disgusted how the children were given the same meal every lunchtime and didn’t like the fact that it was cold at school all day. The children said school now, is warm, bright, inviting and kind. 
The children tried to write with a pot of ink and a quill, they did very well, although they agreed it was very hard. We really enjoyed seeing the differences from years ago and comparing them to our life now.
