Number Day 2024

We started the day by taking part in the NSPCC Rocks TTRS competition. We had a great time!

Then we enjoyed reading ‘How Many Jelly Beans?’ as the stimulus for our Number Day work.

In Year 5, we investigated ‘What is the most common colour of jelly beans in a pack?’ We used fractions to help us or this out. We expressed each colour as fractions, then added fraction and converted to mixed numbers. Finally, we ordered and compared the mixed numbers to answer our question.

We learned that yellow is the most common colour jelly bean!

Finally, we learned about finding fractions of amounts and solved jelly bean themed questions.
