Digital World: Monitoring Devices

We carried out research to develop our design criteria for an animal monitor.  Our research require us to select an animal and discover its minimum-maximum optimal temperature range. We then wrote a program for the micro:bit. The micro:bit had to monitor the ambient temperature and respond with an alert when the temperature is too hot or cold for our chosen animal.

First we used a Micro:bit paper net to make a micro:bit paper model to help us with sizing for our model housing, stands or case ideas to hold our temperature-monitoring micro:bit.

We drew small sketches to draft ideas for our Micro:bit housing, stand or case.

We then made our models and compare them to decide which one of our designs met the design criteria.

We reused a popular plastic product (a toy) to help us invent a micro:bit case, housing or stands.

We then recreated our Micro:bit housing, stand or case as a 3D computer-aided design model using the online CAD Tinkercad interface.
