February 2023 Safer Internet Day - ‘Want to talk about it?’

Computing Council delivered an assembly on ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online’. Where we encouraged everyone to talk about their online life from the things they enjoy and sharing the things they do not. We hope by openly talking about our online activities to our Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Friends and Parents it will make it easier to talk to someone if something goes wrong,

September 2022

The Computing Council have helped agreed the Acceptable Use Policy with our School Governor. They have ensured that these are in each classroom to remind everyone how to stay safe while using our devices and when going online.

June 2022

We are lucky to have 1:1 devices at Seascale Primary School. The Computing Council discussed the importance of looking after these devices and decided to create a poster on how to look after them.

January 2018

We have been looking out our 'Pupil Acceptable IT Use Policy' and have suggested some changes to make it easier to understand and to ensure we stay safe while using ICT in school. We also created a policy for the younger children on how to use i-pads, we talked to some of Year 1 to ensure they understood it and asked them if we had missed anything off it.

We have asked for links to our School Website Pupil Pages on the computers so that it is easier to get to this webpage, especially for our younger children. This will help us use the websites our teachers would like us to use.

We have discussed the shutting down of computers and will check at the end of each day that computers have been shut down correctly. We will also remind children to use the posters we have put up to help them shut down.

7.12.2017

During our meeting today we discussed that many computers are left on, so we decided to make a poster showing how to shut down your computer correctly. We hope that this will help children knowledge to shut down the computers correctly.

We also discussed doing an assembly on Internet Safety for Internet Safety Day which will be on the 6th February 2018 and think we should remind children of the Pupil Acceptable IT Use Policy as this keeps us safe when using devices.

 2016

Today we have been learning about how to keep safe when using the internet.

We have been making posters, talking about how to keep safe, looking at the age classification on movies and games as well as what to do if you have a problem.
