National Poetry Day
This years theme is Environment.
We watched an emotive film about the world and created a class word bank. Using those words we came up with four headings:
1. Physical world
2. Animals and plants
3. Human world
4. Weather and climate change.
After recapping some poetic techniques we set of writing our stanzas in groups.
We’re so proud of the poem we all contributed too.
Carrying on with the 'Environment' theme we are going to perform a poem called Litter is Rubbish by Tony Walsh.
First we looked at one verse and rehearsed saying it in different ways; sad, angry, walking and then in groups. It was fun to try different ways of performing. Next we took a stanza in four groups and will rehearse to eventually perform together.
