Living Things and their habitats

In the classroom we started by looking at a duck, penguin and sparrow. We discussed which animal is the odd one out and why. The class came up with multiple reasons why they chose the odd one out and it was agreed that any of the three could be the odd one depending on how we wanted to classify the animals.

Afterwards, we learned about different habitats and all the animals that live in the habitats. We sorted animals into their habitat groups and discussed animals that live in more than one habitat such as an elephant, is it a desert elephant or a rainforest elephant?

Following this we went out into the woodland to see what animals we could find in a local habitat and then classified them.
