This half term we will focus on poetry, using The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes to explore imagery, rhythm and rhyme. We will prepare parts of the poem to perform aloud, and will identify examples of imagery to use in our own saga poems.

Floodland by Marcus Sedgwick
Our book this half term is a dystopian tale of England after the seas came. Zoe, our character, is on a mission to find her parents when she stumbles upon Eels Island and its terrifying leader Dooby.
Our work this half term has included writing letters to Zoe, making predictions and creating our own dystopian setting descriptions using techniques from the story. We also took part in a forest school morning where we acted in role as survivors on our own island of Woodlandia, working together to build our own community and to develop rules and ways of making decisions.
